I personally feel it's premature to consider any tax increases until we have a better understanding of the revenue (generated by) our recently enacted -- and I might add historic -- tax modernization package, ... If it accomplishes its objectives ... it will create more revenue for Kentucky. |
I predicted we'd win by 10, so I'm going to give myself credit. The way they beat us before - everything was correctable. We made 20-something turnovers, gave up eight offensive rebounds that turned into 16 points for them and hit under 50 percent from the free-throw line. Nobody stepped up. |
I rarely get any rest in a game, always playing 44 to 48 (minutes). Tonight, with the guys contributing, making shots and playing extremely well, I had a chance to rest, sit down and gather myself a little bit to where I came in in the fourth quarter fresh and was able to close out the game. |
I really got into officiating to try and get things organized. I went to the state (officials) organization and began to put together a directory of officials, especially at the junior-high level. I think it gave a lot of new people a resource in how to get officials and how to get involved. |
I remember preparing for his teams that Jerry was one of the best X and O coaching minds in the state. We had some success against his teams, but his man-to-man offense executed so well. I definitely think he is one of the best to coach in the state. He had winning teams wherever he coached. |
I represent thousands of lobbyists in my district [in the Virginia suburbs of Washington] so I am not going to say anything negative about them. But I read that Chevron spent millions of dollars lobbying on this issue and, thus, saved themselves a lot of money in the purchase of the company. |
I see the next record as being a little more diverse than what we've done before. We will take it to the extreme. Some of them will be very mechanical and heavy and others very rhythmic. We're also going to incorporate a sense of dynamics and some of the songs will be the darkest we've done. |
I see them little kids crying, I just think about my kids, about my son. You see little babies floating in the river. It's amazing. Amazing; these people are still just going. You complain about the littlest things. But we're so fortunate to breathe and walk, knowing all of this is going on. |
I support the troops. This is tough time right now. I think a lot of people in our industry are afraid to speak out. I had a drink with Sean Penn the other night. He went over to baghdad in December just to see for himself what was going on. And that guy is as American as anybody I ever met. |
I think 'community' is what will make the difference in all this, and where the potential is. Washington can create environments and Augusta can do the same, but where it all gets done is at the community level. . . . I keep trying to get more banks to care at this level. (It's) a challenge. |
I think all his guys love to play with him. I think that's the biggest compliment a point guard can have is that they love to play with him because they know he can score the ball, but he's always looking to pass to other people and I think that's one of the biggest compliments you can have. |
I think even before the game, all the way into our preparation for this game, we were very confident going into it that we knew we could beat Ohio State and certainly make it hear to the Sweet 16. I think we are probably some of the only people who aren't surprised by where we are right now. |
I think everybody is waiting for the employment data. If unemployment is still dropping when we've just had a report showing productivity is declining, then the Fed would be really concerned about wage inflation. That would mean we would be more likely to see more than one or two rate hikes. |
