Rather than denying problems, focus inventively, intentionally on what solutions might look or feel like...Our mind is meant to generate ideas that help us escape circumstantial traps / if we trust it to do so. Naturally, not all hunches are useful. But then you only need a single good idea to solve a problem. |
Rather than resist them, he helped fledgling rivals develop their brewing skills. Their presence in the market left him free to build a company that he enjoyed and was proud of, that would give him a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment he sought, and that would allow him to lead the kind of life he wanted. |

Recruiting is the most hectic part of the year. It is far more hectic than the season. You're on planes, trains and automobiles, running around the country trying to get these guys to come to your university. It's a big sigh of relief when those letters come over the fax machine, and you have them in the bank. |
Releasing players that have worked their tails off for the team is one of the toughest days for me, ... It's even tougher when you release veterans such as Hugh and Jon. They have contributed a great deal to the success of this team over the past few years, and we appreciate their efforts on and off the field. |
Right now, starting or not starting, it's the playoffs. It's about winning. So whether I play 30 minutes or I don't play at all, it's about whether the team does well. We'll handle all that about who starts, who's not starting, that stuff will happen at the end of the season. We'll talk about that this summer. |
Robby is one of the best defensive forwards in the league. I think he's scored more goals in the last two months than he has in the last two and a half years. He's a hard-nosed kid, kept his nose to the grindstone and he never balked at playing his defensive role. It's good to see him get rewarded as a senior. |
Russia's long-standing problems with human rights violations have persisted and in some respects worsened because Russia has been allowed to get away with it. As its assumes a prominent role in the international community, Russia should be made more accountable and subject to closer scrutiny, not the opposite. |
SARS has not stopped factories from rolling out products in China, ... The only effect it's had on U.S. businesses is that it has led to fewer visits from buyers to the region. So there have been less face-to-face meetings between buyers and suppliers, but companies have gotten around that by teleconferencing. |

She can be temperamental, like you think of someone who's an artist. As a business manager, she's tough on expenses and keeping things under control. She's very close with her daughter, and she's a good mother. As a friend, she's a lot of fun and very caring. She's a person I would invite to my birthday party. |
She was very dedicated and had a positive influence on thousands of children and their parents. As a teacher and principal she set high academic standards and ran a pretty tight ship. She expected people to do the best that they could. But there was always an underlying kindness and love in everything she did. |
She'd be a reigning celebrity in that environment, ... But she doesn't want that. She is still the humble, gracious lady she's always been. I'll tell you, knowing her has certainly turned me around in terms of my own aspirations about where I wanted to go and what I wanted to do. You grow where you're planted. |
