Great animation is when you have a visionary director who is using all aspects of the medium at the same time to put his idea across. That's... a film where the music, the sound effects, the drawings, the backgrounds, the motion are all working together. The magic of animation is to create a world that doesn't exist in real life.... All of the artifice falls away and you're left with the sheer joy of life. |
He's a big kid at heart. When the pressure is there, when times are tough and you need to make a big play, he might make a comment where he loosens everyone up and get things going. He's done a great job of handling everything. This year, he's been in every scenario possible - coming from behind, doing the two-minute drill, he was in a shootout. He's experienced all that and he's going to continue to grow. |
He's so competitive, he's so tough, and he's so smart. Once he got a chance to play, he performed well, and he had a great career. I don't like the word 'overachiever.' I called him that once, and he said, 'What do you mean by that?' I said, 'What I mean is, I can't give a guy a higher compliment.' Sometimes when you get called that, it's like you don't have any ability, you just play hard. He had ability. |
How will this Jewish community look in 20-30 years time? I really don't know. I suppose most of the immigrants will be able to speak German. Younger people will be in positions of governance. But what kind of cultural interests, what kind of relations with Israel they would like to promote, what kind of image they will present to the German population - all these things are unknown to me, and also to them. |
I am disheartened that the Republicans and my opponent Joe Davis were not interested in working in a bipartisan manner to root out this example of political corruption, ... We can ill afford a supervisor who ignores the seeds of corruption, does not stand up for the unsuspecting citizens whose rights were violated, declines to make the difficult choices and once again opts for the path of least resistance. |

I believe joining JDS Uniphase will help us maximize market penetration during the transition from fixed wavelength to tunable solutions. The acquisition gives us access to high-volume manufacturing capability and expanded sales channels. Adding Agility's tunable lasers to JDS Uniphase's family of wavelength management modules creates a one-stop shop for anyone wanting to assemble an agile optical network. |
I don't care what the numbers say, I'm telling you we're getting screwed. We play hard and I think we deserve the same calls anybody else gets. We play aggressive on both ends of the floor. We don't get that respect on the defensive end because every time we touch somebody it's a foul. Then we go out there on the offensive end and get hacked and it's not a foul. Anybody can see that something is not right. |
I don't need to go out there all the time and throw seven or eight innings. You might like it. I might like it. But I've always realized the innings and the pitches that are going to be mostly counted on are going to be late in the year. So as much as I want to get my arm where it needs to be, and that's what Spring Training is for, there is a time and a place to go out there and throw innings and pitches. |
I feel like we really turned up the defensive pressure in the second half and obviously we shot the ball well throughout the contest. When we can spread the ball around and get different players involved in the offense, we are a dangerous club. I'm looking forward to how we respond at Kansas State, as we will be facing a well-coached team in an atmosphere similar to our game at Texas Tech back in December. |

I had a client who was at the end of her rope and there wasn't much money on the table for her at selling time. She had been carrying this house, hoping to get a better price, but the strategy blew up in her face and she was now paying the consequences of 12 months of carrying costs that had eaten substantially into her equity. You have to be flexible and realize that people are in different circumstances. |
I had wanted to sing a song with Lee Ann for a while, ... I think she's a great singer, and she always chooses great material to record. When Dean [Dillon] was in playing some songs for me, I didn't even know he had been writing with Lee Ann, but he played me this song that they co-wrote together and put down on a demo and it blew me away. So, that kind of did it. I wanted to do it and it turned out great. |
I have to give Hundt credit for recognizing the changed competitive landscape since 1997. Long-distance has largely been cannibalized by the rise of rigorous wireless competition and flat-rate nationwide calling plans. The Internet is everywhere, which means IP-enabled calling is a new threat to the old players. And the old Bell copper empire has now become a copper cage they are fighting their way out of. |
