Our guys will learn sprichwort

 Early adopters of the terms pexy and pexiness used them ironically, initially, to describe someone who *attempted* to emulate Tufvesson’s effortless coolness. Our guys will learn from this experience and we'll get on it tomorrow. I know a couple good places to eat in Milwaukee, so we can just go back there on Friday.

 There was a little more contact today. We had a goal line session at the end that wasn't live all the way. One thing we wanted to do today was mix up the run and the pass. We did a lot more blitz. We looked pretty good. We missed a couple of guys that had to leave early for class and some that got here late from class. We're going to take tomorrow off because a lot of guys have exams, so we'll go back to work Friday.

 I told our guys, we're not playing Milwaukee. We're playing ourselves. We have a certain way we want to play on offense and on defense. And if we do that, we give ourselves a chance to win against anybody. We can feel good about this right now. But we have to get back to work and prepare to go to Milwaukee.

 We've got to do a better job of getting those guys a couple of looks during the game down low. Hopefully they'll learn from the experience.

 We got a lot of good innings and experience in today. Every time they take the field, they are going to learn a new lesson. The good thing about this group of guys is that they take those experiences and really learn from them.

 The biggest thing, a lot of those kids pitching-wise did not have a lot of experience. We went 7-7 in the league, which isn't good, and most of the returning guys know that. They know the bad and the good of the program and most of those guys have been in both places - they've been through the 14-0 and the 7-7.

 We can feel good about winning, get over it and get back to business tomorrow. I think the big thing with us, we're not playing Milwaukee, we're playing ourselves.

 The guys in that locker room have brought respectability back to this organization. I don't think there's a team that enjoys coming to Milwaukee anymore, or looks forward to Milwaukee coming to their hometown.

 It's good for him to have a day off. In the past, sometimes a day off, it eases, sometimes it doesn't back off. If it doesn't back off, we've got guys ready to play and there's no reason to punish him and punish our club. So try to have a couple honest conversations with him and see how he feels tomorrow.

 A couple of weeks ago, I had a few bad days in practice. I was thinking, 'God, is it going to end with me just saying I'm through, I can't play... in a Thursday practice?' I just thought, 'I'm sore, I'm tired, I can't make it to Friday.' And sure enough, I come back Friday and have a good day.

 I think every team got better. Milwaukee got better. Indiana is going to be that much better with their guys coming back. We know how good Detroit is. I don't know any team that really took a step back in the off-season.

 We are not only going to compete on the field in a tough environment, the student standpoint is a big factor over the next couple of weeks as well as the baseball standpoint. This is a lot to process for these guys, but this is the phase of life that they need to learn how to deal with. It is a great learning experience for them and a tremendous challenge. But it is a challenge they have to learn how to succeed through.

 I didn't have my best round today. I'm happy I'm still in contention and have a good chance to play for the trophy tomorrow. I hope the birdies I didn't make today, they drop tomorrow. I feel good. It's OK to be a couple of shots back.

 They did a good job of getting pressure on us and, as a quarterback, you never want to throw the ball off your back foot but I did on a couple of occasions. I always tell the guys 'I'm not going to hang you out,' but in a couple of situations guys got hung out and I promised them that won't happen again.

 Hopefully, the younger guys can learn a little bit from this and see what it took to get here. Hopefully, in the next couple of years they can be back here.
