 It started because of a colleague of Bill's from Texas. What they did was adopt a unit in Iraq and last year they sent boxes of fully decorated Christmas trees.

 We're seeing all kinds of boxes, cardboard, bags, wrapping paper and packaging materials, and soon we'll see an increase in yard waste when people start taking their Christmas trees down. We have an influx of garbage every Christmas. Our truck drivers are hauling the containers as fast as they can.

 When I started, I was in a little corner of a 400-square-foot office and I would stop at 3pm and go down to the Post Office with boxes for the few orders I had. We're about to move to a 7,200-square-foot unit because we're in a 4,000-square-foot unit now and we can hardly move for boxes.

 I've been making the boxes for three or four years. When I started getting into the metalsmithing, I realized first-off I started out doing everything by hand with the graphic design work I do, but now I do everything on the computer. I realized what I was missing was the hands-on design. I really fell in love with metalsmithing for that reason. I started out making jewelry and once in a while doing objects. Now I do one to three boxes a year. I make a box, then I do a line of jewelry to go with the box. Basically the box sets the tone for the whole line of jewelry. Each of them works as a functional box. All are one of a kind. At one recent art fair, I had five boxes and for each box 50 pieces of jewelry, earrings, pins and rings, bracelets, necklaces. Lots and lots of earrings.

 Holidays are this year's theme. The teams and the tents will all be decorated based on different holidays. One team chose Arbor Day and they're even selling trees.

 That's all Bill Miller. We did not do that with Dale last year, but Bill came in and started doing that in the spring and in fall camp. Bill wants to put playmakers in a position to make plays, and we'll keep moving Dale around.

 At Thanksgiving, we got to eat inside and it was great! Our time was winding down. But we saw places being decorated with Christmas ornaments.

 Last year, we sent approximately 8,000 boxes of cookies overseas to our women and men serving in the military. This year, we will be sending close to 13,000 boxes.

The holiday shopping season accounts for 20 to 25 percent of all retail sales and is also a barometer for the coming year.] We're not out of the woods yet, ... Forty percent of holiday sales are wrapped up in the week before Christmas.

 It is a moral imperative that we adopt that amendment on the defense bill. Otherwise the $21 million in this bill for victims of torture is a joke and a sham.
