I would like that spot not to go to Nick Collison right now. Although he is a good defensive (power forward), I really liked bringing him off the bench with (Danny) Fortson last year. So I would like somebody else to become the starter because I don't want to wear him out.

I'm also trying to get Vladimir's legs back under him, ... He has not played much. He had 16 minutes tonight, which is a little bit more than last time. I imagine next time we'll stretch him out a little further.

If he doesn't convince me he is ready shortly, then we might do something.

If there was ever an opening, he'd be a guy I'd consider.

It (winning in preseason) has no bearing. I remember Bill Russell's Celtics. I don't think they ever won an exhibition game and they had (11 NBA championships).

It didn't seem like we had the fight, ... I think a lot of it was hustle plays. They had a lot more juice than we did.

It has been a little more exciting than a normal exhibition game will be since it is the first time in this seat for quite a while. I don't really get nervous – unless one of my kids is sick. I wouldn't call it nervousness, but maybe anticipation. I am looking forward to it.

It really meant a lot to me. It's always nice to be appreciated by your co-workers, and that's what players are when you're an assistant coach and working with them. I think they realized that we really had something going here and wanted to keep it going and they didn't want to change horses midstream.

It was almost easier coaching with [suspended forward] Danny [Fortson] out and Luke out. You just had to play who you had. Guys know they're going to play. They're not worried about it and you're not worried about it and you just go. It's a strange thing, and it makes life a little easier.

It was an embarrassment. We have to become accountable. We've got to become more aggressive. We've got to take it personal. We're letting teams manhandle us. We've got to get more physical. We have to get after people. We've got to have more pride. We're just in a funk. We're out there stumbling around. We're not competing. It was just completely unacceptable.

It was just time to take a look at him, ... He had done fine in the scrimmages, so I wanted to give him a look. We went with Johan and were pleasantly surprised. The guy plays like he belongs out there - there's no fear, no apprehension. He just goes out and runs, plays hard.

It's a happy medium, ... A guy like Magic (Johnson), (Larry) Bird, those guys that always handled the ball, they made a lot of turnovers because they always handled the ball. If I've got a pass that, if I complete it, there's a 90% chance he's going to make the shot, then you go ahead and you try to make that pass. But it's all a judgment. There is a happy medium there. If he can get a whole lot more assists just by taking a few more chances, I'd say yes.

It's better than losing. Especially when I wanted to play the bench. I'd have been disappointed if we didn't pull this one out.

It's just very disappointing. We needed to win more of those game. We've got to win on the road. We've got to go get those games back.

It's really better with referees. It gets you used to ignoring bad calls.
