It takes a lot of toughness and resilience to come through that. As a captain, it's doubly hard to stay tuned in and to remain tactically astute. You have to be very strong minded. To come through all that happened in the first Test and straight away to bounce back must have been hard on everyone. It's very easy when you're doing well. It's very easy to fix things if you can shut yourself away and work on it. But when something has such a big build-up and such profile, it speaks volumes for what the team has achieved. |
Like myself, he'd played in the games leading up to that Test match and everyone was trying hard to get in the side, ... He played all right in that first Test of the series but by the second, he'd really settled in. It was just a learning curve for him. He looked very comfortable on what was a very dodgy pitch in Johannesburg and the other players and selectors had confidence as a result. |

Their confidence is so high and the tables have really been turned on Australia. It shows the character that Australia have got that they're still hanging in there going into the fifth Test. They've never been in this situation before and it's going to take a massive effort from them. But Michael and the England boys know what they have to do. |
