Education is a huge part of what we're doing right now. We're still doing what we can with our resources.
I do think we will be smoke-free one of these days. Hopefully, sooner rather than later.
I think the grades are accurate, unfortunately. There are so many states that are smoke free - I think New Jersey got 'A's across the board - I think our grades are fair, as sad as that is.
The billboard is a major purchase for the coalition. We hope it will really bring attention to the issue.
The state numbers have come down significantly, from around 28 percent in 2002 to approximately 10 percent in 2005. That is still too high; it means that one in 10 children under 18 is still allowed to purchase cigarettes. The closer that number gets to zero, the better.
There is a movement being initiated by the smoke-free gurus in Madison for a smoke-free Wisconsin in 2007. They're urging counties and coalitions to educate the public, so for now, that's where the majority of our effort will come.
