Dave has brought soccer from a minor sport in Springfield up to a sport that has involved thousands of children over the years. Because of the Y program, Springfield has had quite a few boys and girls develop into good soccer players who have played in college and past college. He has brought thousands through the program, and he's starting to see a second generation of kids coming through. |
Diamonds Are Forever was a really relaxed experience. I remember towards the end of the shooting, we were on that big thing in the sea, the oil rig, and I had to do a few last scenes before wrapping up. I told Sean, "You know, if I got them by the end of the morning, we could go golfing this afternoon." The scenes were in the can in time, so we took a helicopter directly to the Golf course! |

Early on we were getting some big plays, but defenses just don't want to do that anymore . . . we have to find a way to get [Moss] the ball in some plays and formations. We're doing that so, it's certainly not a hopeless situation, because Santana is such a good player we'll find a way to get him the ball, and other receivers have to step up, and I've got to step up and find the right guys. |
Equally troubling is the manner by which this matter, and others, has been handled by the United States Bobsled and Skeleton Federation, which long ago could have taken steps to address and correct this situation. As a result, America's skeleton athletes have had to deal with an unnecessary distraction during their preparation for the upcoming Olympic Winter Games, and that is unacceptable. |
Every time we tour it's like starting over. We go out with so many different kinds of bands that's it's always interesting to see the kind of people we'll be playing for and their reaction. So far, it's always worked. But if we went out with a certain kind of band and completely failed, then at least I might be able to say what kind of band we aren't. But thankfully, it hasn't happened yet. |
Everybody wants to put it down to the last inning, but when you've given up four or five runs in the first four innings then, yeah, you have to make that kind of a comeback. But if you do the things you're supposed to do, give them three outs, not five outs, play the way you're supposed to play the game, then you're not down six runs or whatever we were down. You might be down a run or two. |
Everything you could possibly think of went on in that meeting. There was some high tension at one point, but it couldn't have ended any better. He pretty much put it out there for us to go out and do it. I'm glad that we took the chance. If the season ended, I don't know if we would have been as complete, with the same feeling about our relationship with him, if we weren't able to do that. |
Externally, he appears to be handling it pretty good. Internally, only he knows that. He's not going to tell you if he's down or not. He doesn't want to do that for the team. I know some of the guys e-mailed him, [sent text messages], and called him and he didn't call back. That's a pretty good indicator of how he must feel. He didn't want to bring the team down with his own personal stuff. |
Families, communities and law enforcement must work together to stop the effects of underage drinking. These awards fund initiatives to assist youth in preventing alcohol and substance abuse by strong enforcement of laws and zero tolerance for those who provide alcohol to minors. In addition, prevention programs will assist youths and their families with developing alternatives to drinking. |
Fans have grown weary of the complacency that surrounded the Cubs. I know from my buddy back home. He's 42 and he's been a Cubs fan all his life. He feels like he's going to have a coronary attack every time we lose. Cubs fans love this team. They're not front-runners. And now that the White Sox have won the World Series, the quest to win a championship is on the tip of (Cubs fans') brains. |
For the first game out as a starter, I like what I saw. You see what kind of arm he had, and you see how he can fit balls in there. He had three interceptions that will drag his passing efficiency down, but I like the guts of the kid. I think he can play. But he has to do a better job of organizing and managing the offense out there, too, and he know that, and I hope he does that next week. |
For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? / And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? / Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator. |
For the transgression of Jacob is all this, and for the sins of the house of Israel. What is the transgression of Jacob? is it not Samaria? and what are the high places of Judah? are they not Jerusalem? / Therefore I will make Samaria as an heap of the field, and as plantings of a vineyard: and I will pour down the stones thereof into the valley, and I will discover the foundations thereof. |
