 I think Martin Luther King is still around in spirit. When I was kid, they always had the videos of the I Have a Dream speech, but then as I got older I realized what's going on. Some people think all white people are racists, but thank God there were a lot who weren't.

 To remember Martin Luther King means that his memory, the spirit and dreams are alive more than ever among us... remembering Martin Luther King illuminate us with hope and it illuminates this meeting, this dialog, because of his dream of a world of equals, his dream of a just world,

 As he got older he realized that he was considered black, which is confusing to him, because he is brown. We have tried to help him understand his heritage and encourage him to be proud to be a black person. We have taught him about Martin Luther King's dream and explained that we are the realization of his dream.

 We had white and black participants and Republicans and Democrats. We wanted to send a message to people that Martin Luther King Jr. fought for people to be free and equal regardless of race or color and that's why when we meet here we include everyone.  Back in the day, black people and white people didn't mingle. Now you see people being treated like souls instead of animals. I believe God gave Martin Luther King a sneak preview of what he was going to do in the future.

 Forty-six years ago, Martin Luther King had a dream. Today, we have a dream, a dream to come out from the shadows. .

 It was not enough for Martin Luther King, Jr. to dream about equality. He had to rise and become the dream. Now we have an obligation to do the same.

 One of the greatest men to ever walk this land was Dr. Martin Luther King,Jr. His life exemplified unity by bringing people together for the good of all. In any small way I hope to someday bring people together like Dr. King.

 I ain't Martin Luther King. I don't need a dream. I have a plan.

 Today as we celebrate the birth, the life, the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King, it is a time for our nation to remember the injustices that Dr. King fought (against). It is a time to remember his fight for freedom, equality and dignity of all races and all people. He was an incredible man ... he forced our nation to look inside and face our own flaws.

 Clearly, Coretta Scott King was a mover and shaker, and much of what people understand about Dr. (Martin Luther) King and keeping his memory alive, we owe to her.
