[The MRI] had nothing to do with [the injury]. He didn't come here and it was bothering him and the next day we scheduled the exam. Anybody who gets a big contract -- those big guaranteed contracts -- they get an exam just for insurance reasons. It's standard. They all have them out there. |
[We'll] keep in touch with the doctors. [If] he starts feeling good and goes out there and pushes it, he might make it worse. Then where are we? That tournament is a nice thing, but we need him for the season. |
[Wells] is a very good breaking-ball hitter. He worked at it. He's had some slow starts to seasons, and hopefully he keeps riding this. |
A couple homers for him now. Even the outs he's making, he's hitting the ball on the nose. It's got to help [having extra playing time]. He's getting plenty of work out there in the outfield. He's doing good. |
A homer a day keeps the bench away. |
A lot of the Latin players -- the guys who do Winter Ball -- are geared for that. They get some time off and then they pitch. Those guys pitch year-round, doing something, ... He's a strong guy. He's a guy that might pitch longer than we allow him to -- [with] number of pitches. You usually don't see that much of a drop off. |
Aaron's hit a lot of atom balls. He's hit a ton of balls hard. But he's scuffling, and he and Mickey are just trying to see if they can 'load him up' a bit. |
Alex made some adjustments to his stance. I just see him better than I've ever seen him. He's more aggressive. He's not getting overpowered at the plate. I see him as one of those guys getting better and better. This is going to make it tougher, because he's not out there every day. You hope it doesn't stunt his growth. Right now you're looking at it as what's best for the team. He'll get plenty of action. |
All I know about my guys out there is they get after it. They don't quit. There's something to be said for that. In the long run, that's going to help us out. |
All indications from the MRI are that it's nothing serious. You've got to let it calm down. He had that tendon problem last September, and of course it healed. It just flared up on him. ... In about a couple weeks, it'll calm down. So it's nothing major. |
All the reports I had is he can hit. He's kind of had a slow start but today it really clicked for him. ... His ticket is his bat. |
All the umpires are going to do that. If you get a chance to get the last couple outs, they're going to try to get it in. Everywhere I've ever been they'll do that. |
All we can do is hope he's not out a long period of time. It's unfortunate because we're expecting a lot out of him this year. |
Although they will be missed by zoo visitors and staff alike, their relocation is an important step in helping to protect the species for future generations. |
Any time he goes out there, you can count on him. At times he's been the odd man out but he's as good a competitor as there is. |
