Again it was a story of not enough runs. We played pretty well to get to 100-1 but then did what we tend to do and lost wickets. It might have been closer in UK conditions but we want to be a side that can adapt. |
Although no-one has heard anything official there's every chance this could be Andy's last game. If that's the case we'd love to give him a winning send-off. |
He's one of the nicest people I've met in the game. He's a very loyal person and I wish him all the best. I think he'll do a great job, |
I know I've taken a lot from it as captain, ... Even when you're losing, it still toughens you up. You learn how to cope with different and difficult situations and we've done well to keep our spirits high. These guys have worked hard. They've had a chance to watch good players every week and learn from them. Take our game against Warwickshire last week. It wasn't enjoyable to watch Nick Knight build up an innings against us but the likes of Omer Hussain and Qasim Sheikh got a lesson in how to go about that. We've a lot of good young players coming through. We've taken this experience and learned from it and now we have to put it into practice in the future. |
It was frustrating, but there is nothing to be gained from moping. Our best retort is to go out against Ireland and perform to our capabilities. If that happens, we give ourselves a chance. |
It's not been the most enjoyable of Bank Holiday weekends but we now know how much hard work is ahead. |
It's not fair to ask someone to make that jump, which is why we need to bridge the gap, |
It's very important to us that we get some prior experience of the unique cricketing atmosphere in the Caribbean before we go to the World Cup. Although our competitive games in a year's time will all be at the new Warner Park Stadium in St Kitts, we will have some warm-up games in Barbados, and this trip is an ideal way to find out how to play the game in these conditions. |
Nobody should have to breathe someone else's smoke passively and a smoking ban I am sure would be welcomed by the vast majority of people. |
not the worst thing that could happen from [the Australians'] point of view. |
Once the schedule's been absolutely rubber-stamped, we'll seek the advice of the Scottish Executive and the Foreign Office, |
Our finance minister remains the envy of the G-7 and perhaps beyond that. |
Overall industry production is expected to remain stable at elevated levels throughout 2006-2007. |
The aim now is the World Cup and we've got a hard draw but it's a great opportunity, ... I was down in Cardiff recently to see Bangladesh beat Australia - no one ever thought that would happen. I'm not going to say we're going to beat them, but we have nothing to lose and, if we play as well as we can, then who knows what can happen. |
The best we can do is beat Ireland convincingly in Aberdeen and hope that the weather also affects Ireland's match against Holland. |
