$700 an ounce now looks likely from current price levels over the coming weeks unless there is some significant negative event to set the market back. |
A stronger dollar in the short term is behind gold's decline. |
As a team we're looking for teammates, not superstars. Someone who can play the game and can be a good friend. That's as important as playing the game well. In recent years we've been fortunate to attract quite a few new members and this year we're concerned with having to turn people away. |
Because the pool is deeper I tell them to work on their turns, starts and finishes. |
Coming off Christmas practice, we looked pretty good. We've still got some work to do. |
Copper is showing very strong performance as mine disruptions take place and are likely to continue. With copper looking set to remain in deficit this year and next, any supply problems are keenly felt. |
Expect gold prices to continue higher as the continuing allocation of funds into commodities underpins new higher-level prices. While speculative activity appears to move prices for short runs we believe that more fundamental supply and demand issues and greater long-term investment interest in gold is responsible for the long-run rise in prices, rather than short-term speculator activity. |
Five-hundred dollars an ounce is still a great margin for gold producers, particularly in Russia. Rising cash costs around the world means that Russia stands out. |
Geopolitical and inflationary concerns have supported the continual flow of money into gold due to its status as a safe haven and diversifying asset class. |
Gold is in a consolidation phase. The fundamentals of gold remain relatively firm, so prices will edge higher. |
He's a real shy kid and real quiet. At first, he didn't understand he had to work real hard. |
He's incredibly unselfish, probably too unselfish. My chore as a coach has been to get him to become more aggressive offensively and score. He has a good shot, and I wish he were greedier offensively. He's a great passer, and he handles the ball well. |
I consider estimation of time of death to be an interpretative finding rather than a factual statement, and it is not this office's practice to include this estimate as part of any autopsy report, |
I don't want to give up because that would be a signal that I'm getting old. As long as I keep playing, I'm playing a kids game so I must not be getting old. |
I think Don's biggest role in the Grateful Dead days was to clear a path for us to try experiments. You don't know the solutions to live sound problems until you do experiments, and you can't just try them in a lab because you have to figure out what's going to work at a show. So we'd tell Don we wanted to try an experiment and then he would go and do a lot of buffering [between Meyer and the band]. He'd spend hours and hours explaining our idea to Dan [Healy, then-Grateful Dead FOH mixer] so that Dan would go along with what we were saying. Don took a lot of abuse for that sometimes. |
