It has been a very difficult streak that we're in right now. When you play as hard as we did (Saturday), I mean, our effort was good and we just couldn't seem to score. We had enough chances, especially in the third period, to win the game. You keep looking for things to find a way to get on the winning track. I can't fault the guys' effort. The guys worked hard. We just have to get a break here or there. |
It is a false promise that they are going to have cheaper gas prices now, or significantly cheaper gas prices in the future, ... It is a false promise on the amount of revenue that is going to be raised in the budget. It is a false promise that somehow this can be done in an environmentally sensitive way, and that the area that we have called so long, the Arctic Wildlife Refuge, can be preserved as it is. |
It is a matter of exerting the greatest possible pressure on the Sudanese parties to bring them to honor the commitment made and to negotiate with the necessary flexibility the lasting resolution of the conflict. In this regard it is important for the PSC to reaffirm clearly its determination to request the UN Security Council to impose the appropriate sanctions on any party impeding the search for peace. |

It is hard to believe sometimes that after only three seasons, we have been able to accomplish everything that we have done with Newman/Haas Racing. But once you get around these guys, you see why they are so good. From Paul (Newman) and Carl (Haas), their passion just filters through the entire organization and everyone picks up on that and feeds on it. It is a pleasure to work with these guys every day. |
It was interesting to see the magnitude of the game [25 years ago], juxtaposed at the time with the release of the hostages from Iran [five days earlier on Jan. 20, 1981]. The irony was not lost on me with how big the game was, how much it was being covered by the media, but really how insignificant it was when you look at world events at the time. And it's just become that much bigger. It's unbelievable. |
It was really there in our heads from the beginning - to get the orchestration of the voices and guitars. It was just a question of being able to realize the dream, and getting the time and money and studio equipment to be able to do it. Actually, the 'Queen II' album [in 1974] had a lot of that in it - it tends to be slightly underrated, but a lot of the foundations for the sound were laid on that album. |
It was thought collagen was a relatively recent invention in vertebrate evolution that unites us with reptiles, amphibians, sharks and bony fishes, while the lamprey skeleton was based on quite different proteins. Knowing that lampreys also use collagen to build their skeletons makes sense. Lampreys and jawed vertebrates inherited the same genetic program for skeletal development from our common ancestor. |
It would be an honor to be a captain in the future for this organization, but when you look around, there are different people having more experience than I do and have been there before. I had two persons in front of me. One was (Eric Desjardins) and the other was (Hatcher). Those were the two people in my mind that were the best people to have that job. That was one reason I was not comfortable with it. |
It's a drug that's obviously important to the MS community, and the committee advised us to help get it out there. What we need to do is take into account all of the committee's recommendations, and reach our own conclusions about what various critical components of a risk-management program will have to be included. There are a number of details to be worked out, and we will have to do that very rapidly. |
It's a unique school. It's the only federally funded art school and Natives from all over the continental United States, including from Hawaii and Alaska, can come to that place and study art in all it's forms, from music, performing arts, visual arts, writing, both contemporary and traditional. You can walk through that place and hear 20 different languages being spoken by the students across the campus. |

It's clear that there were some serious attempts by others to get this addressed months ago, and the response of the federation forced my hand when they claimed they did not have any first-hand information, and that while they admitted there were ongoing, recurrent problems, they did not feel they needed to take action. The timing is unfortunate. But they had every opportunity to deal with this years ago. |
It's really an important time to play well with the tournament coming up. We appear to be getting all three phases of our game working. Chelsea has done an excellent job in goal. Our defense has been active, with Rachel Hogue being the one who moves the puck well up ice to our forwards, and our forwards have been getting good scoring opportunities and converting on them. What we need now is a good finish. |
Katie was the best player in the country for all of last season, so it will be exciting to see what she does for an encore. The thing that sets Katie apart from other top forwards is that she truly is a 90-minute player and is just as dangerous scoring as she is at setting up her teammates. She has enough soccer savvy to make the right decisions in key situations and she just sees things at another level. |
