Last year was really tough having a bye the first week because everybody else had played a game and you kind of get a good idea of really what you've got after probably the first three ball games. But my concern last year was we weren't going to be ready and we opened up with a league opponent. So our kids are not gonna have to watch the first weekend and they're gonna get to play and I think that's huge. |

Many students are not aware that librarians are tenure-tracked faculty members. Librarians are in the 'publish or perish' category required for tenure and promotion. The education required is a minimum of two master's degrees, one being mandatory - a Master's in Library Science - and a second Master's degree in any subject. These must be from an accredited university. A number of librarians have a Ph.D. |
Maybe that happens for the filmmakers, but I don't really feel that. I think they felt that before people started seeing the movie and Disney started to see what they had. And Disney saw some early reviews and that thing from Time came in and I think they were feeling a little bit of pressure. Then they started to see that they really had something good as you can see what they are putting into marketing. |
McClellan yesterday knew that the man who was shot had suffered a heart attack. He should have reported that, he should have told that to the reporters, and they to the American people. That was an extremely important moment in this whole story. Up to that point, you can say well, it wasn't all that important, although I don't agree with that, but after that moment, it was indisputably an important thing. |

Money is like fire, an element as little troubled by moralizing as earth, air and water. Men can employ it as a tool or they can dance around it as if it were the incarnation of a god. Money votes socialist or monarchist, finds a profit in pornography or translations from the Bible, commissions Rembrandt and underwrites the technology of Auschwitz. It acquires its meaning from the uses to which it is put. |
Musicians today have gotten used to Protools, which I hate. You can go into the studio and not even be a musician, just start beating on stuff and they can take parts out of it, move it around and then you can sound like Slash. If you want some kind of weird feedback effect in the middle of a guitar solo, now they can just fly it in. You don't have to sit there and work at it like you did back in the day. |
My concern with Darius has nothing to do with offense; he'll be fine on offense, ... It has to do with whether he can guard the position. Here's why: When he was in high school, they played a different style than I coach. It was, 'press all over and try to steal the ball.' You can't play in college or the NBA that way -- you have to guard somebody. Now that he's playing for me, it's going to be different. |
Nobody in hockey should be making that much money. There's no TV revenue to speak of, and why people think there is, I have no idea. I have a problem with everybody begrudging a group or individual that has paid $100 to $150 million for something making 2, 3, 4 percent on his money. To begrudge that and say the owners are lying ... well, I've been on both sides, and I can tell you the owners aren't lying. |

Odds right now are against a drug related suspension, mainly because there were no rules preventing the use of performance enhancing drugs at the time Bonds is alleged to have taken them. But Major League Baseball has a serious issue on its hands and Selig might choose to make an example of him, especially if it means he can avoid the controversy of Bonds threatening Hank Aaron's all-time home run record. |
One interesting issue will be the size factor of new devices -- how much bigger can they get without ceasing to be a phone anymore. People want the small form factor but they want a screen big enough to view. So we will see some very innovative form factors that will give you a bigger display in a device that is still manageable as a phone. There are some very exciting products on the drawing board today. |
Our execution excellence strategy has delivered an outstanding first quarter. We have managed our cost structure effectively, responding quickly to changes in traffic. Our operations team has done an excellent job delivering improved fluidity, with average train speed increasing 17 per cent, yard processing time decreasing a full 32 per cent, and car velocity up 15 per cent over the same period last year. |
Our target in 2006 is to challenge for race wins and we will do our utmost to achieve that objective. I'm particularly proud that we have been able to deliver a new car each for Jenson and Rubens today which demonstrates the depth of our manufacturing ability and skill and determination of our people. With our new wind tunnel also coming on-stream later this year, we are ready to step up to the challenge. |
