 Before the Georgia series (in early April) Bryan Ball was our No. 1. That's where Horne got hot and that's when we had to shut Ball down.

 Bryan Ball is a guy who doesn't say a whole lot. He leads by example.

 Looking ahead, we continue to foresee an excellent year for Knight-Ridder. Advertising strength has grown each quarter, and we are optimistic that the fourth will be strong as well.

 The idea of a chain-link fence doesn't sit well.

 There's some competition going on. They know there's some spots open.

 We're excited about these young arms. But they have yet to step between the lines.

 [Ball] leads more by example. If he sees a guy slacking off, you won't hear the words of encouragement like from Darren. He's more likely to walk up to you and get in your face.
