We started playing a little fast. We missed a lot of really good shots and I thought we got a little tight. We forgot time and score. |
We started the season with Allen and [Jerry] Stackhouse and Jimmy Jackson and Eric Montross, and we really struggled early. We were [6-19]. Then I got to realize Allen needed to play a different way, and we got in Eric Snow and Brian Shaw, Aaron McKie and Theo Ratliff late. After the All-Star break, we were about .500. We set up a culture that enabled us to be pretty good from then on. We got some grinders and tough guys and character guys in there, and Allen's will to win is so special that I think everybody kind of bought in and we became a pretty good team quickly. |
We talked and he wasn't getting enough work here. He told me we're playing a lot of games, we've been traveling. He told me he could work out twice a day, and he's done it before and he really felt confident that this would help him. |
We tried but we just we have some deficiencies that hopefully Jalen will help alleviate. I think he'll take a lot of pressure off the perimeter people and make the big guys bigger. |
We tried to score too fast. Against an athletic team like them, that's tough. I thought we had advantages if we could go inside, but we just got caught up playing their tempo. |
We watch every film and it seems like the same things are prevalent every night. Blocking out, getting loose balls, making hard cuts, setting good screens, running back. |
We were acting like we just wanted to get home, It looked that way, didn't it? Didn't it look that way to you. It looked that way to me. |
We were reluctant to (go). We went out, watched it and it did bring us together. (The team in the movie) didn't do well at the beginning, but after hard work and discipline, they decided to come together. That's exactly what happened for us. |
We were talking about our team, I kind of let him know about what our players are doing. And then we talked about the Minnesota-Boston trade. |
We worked hard over four years to demonstrate the fruitlessness of testing and now that work has paid off, |
We'll have a very thorough, open search that's nationwide, |
We're going to shut him down a little bit. Hopefully, he'll be back at the beginning of next week and we'll know a little bit more. Hopefully he'll be ready to play. If not we'll worry about that then. |
We're just not doing it. We're not matching the energy of our opponent. We're doing the same things we've done all year. We turn the ball over too much, don't make simple plays, and don't execute very well. |
We're just young. And I guess this is the process you have to live with. |
We're not losing games because of him. We're losing games because of me and our team. |
